I have been an avid lifter for years and over that time I have had many personal accomplishments, but I struggled with getting to the strength goals that I wanted to achieve. I would read lifting magazines and talk to different people to try to improve what I thought I needed to fix to achieve my goals. It wasn’t until I started working out with Cody at Unorthodox Fitness that I started noticing a difference. The difference between Cody and everyone else that I have had help me over the years is the knowledge and passion that he posses. He would walk me through each movement/exercise, coach me on any errors that I was making, and gave me an in depth explanation on why it was done that way. He spends countless hours studying the science of fitness, the human body, and taught me that that if I wanted to achieve my goals I needed to improve every part of my body, even if I wanted to improve something as simple as my bench press. Every time I had a session with Cody he was energetic and excited to teach me anything new that he had picked up. Without Cody I never would have reached the accomplishments that I have and I am very grateful to have the opportunity of having learned from him. Cody Tustin was great! Nobody has helped my progress for health and fitness more than Cody. I was pushing past 300 lbs. and starting to lose faith in my willingness to get motivated and actually work out. Within a 6-month period I lost more than 50 lbs. by following his tutelage and his firm belief in technique and motivation. He is a tactician for technique and strives within you to do the best you can as a person, mentally and physically. By Cody’s great power of motivation he helped me believe I could run a mile again without stopping, do an actual pull-up, do more than 20 push-ups in one section. He helped me believe all of those things and then some. His knowledge of the body, mind and nutrition is an excellent tool to help any person become more fit within the body and mind.
Cody changed my perspective on working out! I had went to Cody to help with some workouts I could do to get into shape as well as look “GOOD” for my up coming wedding.
I was dreading the first workout. Thought I would be doing the typical workouts and running (which I kinda HATE). After one workout I was so excited! Cody listened to everything I wanted (arms to look define for wedding pictures) and what I hated about working out (RUNNING). He puts together fun energetic workouts that make you want to do more. He used a lot of cross fit as well as normal work outs and even combined them into some and things I had never seen before. He challenged me each time without me even knowing. He changed the way I think about working out and he will do the same for anyone who wants to get back to the healthier you!
What can I say… Cody Tustin is a class act. His work ethic is unparalleled and his attitude is contagious. Cody is someone you actually “want to” be around and be pushing you to your limits. He has an uncanny ability to stretch you farther than you thought you could go… and in a way that is encouraging rather than debilitating. I consider Cody an amazing personal trainer, and I’d go as far as one of the best personal trainers you could possibly hire.
